allow working spouses to contribute to the social security accounts of those who have non-pay jobs, such as homemakers.

Created by J.B. on February 19, 2012

To increase the social security account and provide needed revenue to spouses who have no income at retirement age. My spouse is a lifetime homemaker. She raised two valuable and responsible citizens, maintained a home while supporting a 20 year Air Force career husband, took care of aging/dying parents, all for no income. There are many others out there who do the same. They deserve an opportunity to contribute to their social security accounts in some way. A spouse could contribute the entire percentage as an elective. The account would be the sole property of the holder and not subject to divisions in divorce or other legal procedings. It would be the same account as all others. This petition is on behalf of all non-income supporters of our society and family structures.
