In order to run this country (or state), don't you think some time should be spent defending it? For far too long this government has sent troops to the front line having never known the sacrifice these service members make.
That needs to change! All government positions pertaining to policy making (president and vice, Senate, House, Supreme Court, Governor, and etc) should be required to volunteer one full contract (6 years) to any military branch. Here they will develop the characteristics that many veterans are known for and is sadly missing from many administrations (past and present).
