This petition is an attempt to convince President Obama to alter the HHS contraception mandate that is a part of the 2009 health care reform; this mandate changes the understanding of religious freedom and prevents people of a faith-based group/institution from living out their faith completely. Putting aside whether one agrees that contraception is right or wrong morally, it is the principle of this mandate of forcing a faith-based group/institution to violate their conscience and inhibit them from living out their faith completely as a private organization. We the people demand this mandate be changed to exempt all religiously affiliated groups and institutions from providing health care services that violate their consciences.
