Alter the pledge of allegiance

Created by K.J. on October 05, 2015

I do believe, in accordance with the government's intended neutral position on religion, that the pledge of allegiance should no longer contain the line "under god" as it appears to show preference of religion over the lack there of. The line "under god" was added to the pledge as a response to the fear brought on by the communist threats of the time. Times have changed and people have become more sensitive to religious issues, as a result this particular line of the pledge has been a topic of controversy fueled by misinformation. As the pledge is meant for all people in America, it should be something that everyone is okay with. America is a mixing pot of culture and types of people. As a result of this, if you put religion into the pledge you will need to cover all religions, or none.
