The ambulance bill is too much.

Hi, I am a foreign student that study in a school in MA. A few months ago, I felt uncomfortable and the school called 911 for me. It was only 1.6 mile from the school to the hospital, and later I received the bill from the ambulance, it is $2,600. I have an agency that bought insurance for me, but the insurance does not cover the ambulance money, even the hospital money. As a student, I can not afford the bill which is almost $3,000. I do not understand why I need to pay that much just for a 1.6 mile ride on the ambulance car. As well, I don't want to pay without knowing the reason. Thank you.
