Given the time it was drafted in, the second amendment made sense. Today it is archaic and obsolete in every sense of modern day security needs. With the advent of technology, the police being a 2 minute call away, and other modern advances in house surveillance, urban infrastructure and security systems, gun laws are archaic and obsolete for todays security needs.
In the last few years, we've seen multiple cases of people misusing that very right and innocent lives lost like CT shootings,Colorado,Oregon,Wisconsin, etc.
Just like with a terrorist attack on 9/11, we now implemented added security measures in travel, we give up the right to bear arms for the safety of our people.
Bottom line law: If you are not the military, a cop, or security personnel, you cant buy a firearm legally.
