The adam walsh act although written with some good intentions was done so without consideration given to the states that use risk assessments. The states that have spent many hours and millions of dollars assigning risk levels to sex offenders need to be able to use what they have already paid for. The act has not been adopted by the majority of states as it is to costly. Amend act to include risk assessment to assign tier levels. Amend act to end lifetime registration except for repeat and predatory offenders. Amend act to allow for automatic removal when time on the list is satisfied.
