Amend the Affordable Care Act

Created by B.C. on December 05, 2014

Mental health care provisions were expanded in the passing of the Affordable Care Act. Certain benefits were given to those who suffer mental health issues, but treatment limitations and visit limitations are still present. The Affordable Care Act does not guarantee citizens with health insurance the ability to see a mental health care professional, whether it be a psychiatrist, social worker, mental health counselor, or psychologist on an unlimited basis. Insurance companies have the right to limit visitation to mental health care professionals. The Affordable Care Act must be revised to deny insurance companies the right to limit care for the mentally ill.
