Unscrupulous employers, particularly in the retail and fast food industries are defying the law by refusing to give any employee enough hours to survive on. These employees were struggling to pay their rent and utilities in the first place. Now, employers are slashing hours down to 20-some hours while putting out "Help Wanted" signs and hiring more people in order to get around the law. The easiest and best way to approach this would be to amend the health care act to compel employers to provide health insurance to ALL employees, regardless of part or full time status, Since employers have initiated the need for this action due to their finding a way to avoid compliance with the law, this seems like the simplest and best course of action. Thank you for taking this into consideration.
