Our Representatives and Senators have displayed gross irresponsibility in regards to controlling their own compensation, profiteering at the expense of the American public.
To rectify this matter, an amendment to Article I, Section 6 must be made to give control over compensation for services to the American people. This amendment would do the following:
1) Members of Congress shall be given minimum wages in accordance to the gross average wages of the citizens in the district they represent. This minimum wage shall be applied every time a new representative or senator takes office.
2) Any wage increases must be put to a public vote. The citizens shall decide the worth of the representative or senator for their district/state.
A formal amendment shall be drafted to enforce the above.
