Elected officials are supposed to act on behalf of the best interest of the constituents they represent. However, there is no requirement binding them to the majority will of the people.
Now that we live in an age of social media and connectivity, we have the resources to allow every decision faced by an elected official be presented to their constituents to be vetted and voted on, via email, phone, text, mail, etc.
If enough people act, meeting a certain threshold of participation and majority, the results would legally bind the representative to side with their constituents' majority, even if they wish to vote differently.
This would ensure that the actions taken by congress are a result of the undeniable (and verifiable) will of the people they represent.
