Pres. Obama & U.S. Congress:
We propose that the U.S. Constitution be amended with the following language:
(1) The states are not required by this Constitution to accord any right or benefit of civil marriage to any relationship other than between one man and one women.
(2) Congress is not required by this Constitution to accord any federal benefit of marriage to any relationship other than between one man and one woman.
(3) This amendment does not require Congress or the states to accord benefits to married persons.
We hereby petition Congress to propose this amendment to the states. We hereby petition the President to do whatever is in his power to support this proposed amendment.
