Our nation has a rich history of civil rights movements. While there is still progress to be made, women, African Americans, immigrants, and other social groups see America as a world leader in liberty and equality.
It is no longer appropriate to discourage women from pursuing careers outside domestic life, to use racial slurs, or to ignore cruel working conditions for immigrant workers.
In the same way it is not right to tell gay couples that their relationships are not as meaningful as heterosexual relationships, that their children would be better off without a loving home than in a homosexual person's household, or that gay love is not "real" or "right."
Please sign this petition to signify that the United States is a place of tolerance and equality.
