Firearms possession should be banned in the United States. Recent events like the Sandy Hook Elementary school massacre should be enough to justify this cause. Although criminals might acquire weapons regardless of the law, banning the right to bear arms will control the acquisition of firearms by criminals. Possession of guns for self defense defeats the purpose and the need for Police. If we do not abolish the second amendment, then states should ensure that public school systems and other government entities are well protected from assailants. Let us work towards becoming a society that condemns violence and does not promote it through its means.
