An essential part of being an American is the right to vote for who represents you. Unfortunately, there are many methods to restrict access to voting. I would like the White House to strongly push for legislation that:
1) Ensures that municipalities provide sufficient polling locations relative to their population;
2) Prevents municipalities from locating polling locations in inconvenient or distant locations;
3) Establish sanctions for municipalities whose polling locations have a waiting time that exceeds a certain threshold; and
4) Regulates minimum hours that polls must be open.
These basic standards should be universal across all states. No sitting government should be able to modify these rules to favor a specific population or party.
