Career politicians fail to recognize and identify with societal changes. This type of Constitutional amendment was proposed once before in 1951 when the 22nd Amendment was ratified, limiting the term of the presidency to two 4-year terms. As the president must be subject to term limits to avoid dictatorship, so should the House and Senate.
