It appears as if we will be going over the fiscal cliff and that our elected officials cannot work together for the good of the average citizen. Term limits for these politicians would take power out of this political class and give it back to the people.
While our country is bankrupt, our politicians continue to enjoy all the perks that the average citizen finds harder and harder to obtain. And regardless of these economic conditions and struggles of the people, our politicians continue to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle as they continue to vote themselves pay increases and certain privileges.
Setting term limits for politicians would ensure that they will be more responsible for the people who voted to put them in office and less concerned about what they can do to benefit themselves.
