We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Amend the Constitution with regard to requirements for serving as President of the United States.

Created by T.K. on November 15, 2016

The requirements to serve as President of the United States as outlined in the US Constitution (Article II, Section 1) no longer serve the interests of the citizens of the USA and the world. Unlike jobs in the private sector (including CEO positions), which require stringent qualifications to perform the duties of the office, the United States asks for none other than an age and citizenship requirement. This petition asks for Congress to draft requirements for the world's most important job and amend the Constitution to include them. Qualifying experience should include one or more of the following: prior governing experience through election (municipal, county, state), legal education, prior public service, college matriculation.
