Homeless people have been living on the streets in the United States of America for the entire history of the Nation. They have been criminalized, beaten, murdered, frozen to death, overdosed, and ridiculed. Every night, they risk harassment for seeking something that every Person needs: Sleep. All laws prohibiting sleeping in public space should be abolished, and public space should be made available 24 hours per day for legal use, including sleep. No human should have to be afraid to fall asleep and wake up under arrest. Sleep is a human right, and should not be infringed upon by any local, county, state, federal, international, or other authority.
