Thomas Jefferson and George Mason urged setting legal limits to tenure within the Senate, because the absence of rotation can lead to oligarchy. What we are seeing is rule by a select few when Senators make a career serving in Washington. We have seen the results and it is not working. Failure to pass legislation that confronts the problems Americans face with unemployment, inflation, lack of wage reform to keep up with the cost of living, and a bigger government dole each time legislation is passed. The answer isn't taxing, and taxing to pay for bigger government. The answer is putting fresh minds in office on a regular basis to prevent catering to select groups of people. Smaller government, and less taxation on business means jobs.
