We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Amend the Constitution so as to Provide At-Large House Elections to States

Created by N.K. on July 24, 2016

The current system of election to the House of Representatives disables minority parties from gaining representation in their respective states. This amendment would enact a system used by states whereby elections to the House of Representatives would be at-large rather than by district. As a result, thirty percent of the vote would mean thirty-percent representation, rather than the current winner-take-all system. As an addendum, this would destroy the practice of gerrymandering, where a political party is segmented to destroy their power in the House, as well as promote compromise and greater coalitions among multiple parties rather than the simple two that refuse to moderate their positions.
