Article 2 Section 1 of the US Constitution declares that our president is to be elected by a method known as the Electoral College. This system assigns a value to each state based on its number of federal elected representatives. Each Senator and House-member a state has represents one electoral vote. Each state has two senators but its number of house-members is dependent on the state's size and individual districts.
Because of this, even if you vote one way, your state may still go to the other way. In other words, your individual vote does not matter in general elections.
I propose we amend the constitution to elect our POTUS by popular vote rather than Electorally. This way, each individual vote cast will increase exponentially in value and will maximize election integrity. Thank you
