Amend DOMA to change the legal definition of marriage!

Created by A.M. on January 12, 2013

Instead of repealing the full Defense Of Marriage Act (DOMA), amend the legal definition of marriage from "one man and one woman" to "two consenting adult citizens", effective immediately. The current definition is not only discriminatory, it is impeding millions of LGBTQ citizens from being able to experience marriage with their partners like straight couples can. If not started in a productive fashion through Congress for a vote, please use your option of an Executive Order so that ALL of your adult citizens have equal rights and thus will be equal under federal law regardless of each state's respective legislation regarding how they want marriage recognized within their state lines. Thank you!
