Amend the EEO laws to include language discrimination

Section 1 of the 14th Amendment states that "no State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States." English is the official language of California and Arizona. Although Texas does not have an official language, its legislation is all written in English. In New Mexico, 63.5% speaks English as their primary language. Nevada is similar as the majority of its citizens speak English (about 1,425,748 people).

If this is all true, why is being bilingual often a requirement for the lowest of entry-level jobs? It is downright discriminatory. Also, if one discriminates against language, it is not long before they discriminate against race. This petition calls to add language as a protected characteristic in the nation's EEO laws.
