Amend gender equality into the consitution

Created by A.H. on March 05, 2014

I am a high school student in Boston. Today in my AP United States History class I learned that the Equal Rights Amendment first introduced in 1923 was never amended into our constitution. It is ridiculous to think that living in the 21st century our constitution still does not guarantee equal rights regardless of sex. What this means is that technically Equal rights based on sex is non existent in our constitution. If you believe that the Equal Rights Amendment should get another look in the context of this century please sign this petition. If we can get the Obama administration to take a look at the Equal Rights Amendment than maybe we can move this country forward by finally having something in our constitution that guarantees Equal Rights for man and women.
