amend the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 to allow students to pick what they will eat and avoid throwing food away

Created by T.W. on January 09, 2014

In order to reduce the amount of food waste from all school cafeterias, including Kerr Middle School in Burleson, Texas, we are asking to amend the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 to allow schools to be reimbursed for meals without kids choosing at least a half cup of fruit and/or vegetable on their trays. When students are forced to do that, they throw the food away and the food that could be used for other things is wasted in landfills.
