A truly leading and prosperous nation is one that allows Einsteins and Platos to work together. Therefore, we find it discriminatory when foreign holders of U.S. Ph.D. degrees in non-STEM fields are routinely left out of the "best and brightest" category by U.S. lawmakers. Doctorate degree holders in Artes Liberales are just as valuable an asset as technical degree holders. They are the individuals who improve the U.S. school and university system, raise language proficiency level, bring religious and aesthetic awareness, spearhead research in history, archaeology, sociology, political science, philosophy, and establish top-notch businesses and organizations promoting peace, democracy and human rights. The benefit of obtaining the green card must be extended to Ph.D. holders of ALL majors.
