As an American citizen and proud veteran of the U.S. Army, the evident disparity that exists between members of the House of Representatives and the Senate is disheartening. With all due respect, Mr. President, it is very clear that the outcome of this election would not have changed the atmosphere of politicians choosing ideology over the well-being of America as a whole--regardless of party, values, or beliefs.
The biggest blame falls on the fact that in a 21st century society, we have a legislative body that is well beyond its time. And we have no one else to blame but ourselves as we have become complacent with elected officials we are comfortable with rather than electing candidates ready to work for all constituents.
With that said, we must petition for term limits in Congress.
