Amend the Internal Revenue Code to exempt base pay for active duty members of the US Armed Forces from income tax.

The men and women of our armed forces have a multitude of tasks that they perform in order to ensure the security and freedom of the United States and its citizens.
Although they receive pay and benefits which do much to reward the services they perform for all of us, there is an additional way that we can both reward them for their service and the sacrifices they make, and that is to make their base pay that they receive be considered exempt from federal income taxes, especially for those in the enlisted pay grades of E-1 to E-7, and all officer pay grades below O-4.
Not only will this make it easier on them and their families financially, it will also allow for increased spending which will help our economy.
