I am petitoning to have the Lautenber Ammendment revised. My brother Christian was charged as a Juvenille for Domestic violence when my mom hit him and he hit her back. Now because of this ammendment he is not permitted to posses a weapon for 10 years. and therefore not eligable to join the Military which is what he has always wanted to do. I believe that the level of assult should be revised as to who this ammendment really applies to. One hit or violent behavior can charge someone with a DV ruining thier whole life. Christian will now not be able to succeed to be the Soldier that he was born to be. And that is sad to see such potential wasted. What happened to second chances?
