Amend the Military Selective Service Act to require women to meet the same registration requirements as men.

Created by M.L. on March 19, 2013

On January 23, 2013, the Pentagon decided to end its policy of excluding women from combat positions.

The existence of the combat restrictions clearly indicates the basis for Congress' decision to exempt women from registration. The purpose of registration was to prepare for a draft of combat troops. Since women are no longer excluded from combat positions, Congress should no longer exclude women from Selective Service registration under the Military Selective Service Act.
