This petition is on behalf of the people who work in an industry where they make their money in tips. This new rule that came into effect in January 2014 regarding the Auto-Gratuities to be withheld until the following pay date so they can be taxed is hurting those who work in this industry. Day to day cash is what is relied upon, and now that has been basically stripped away. Large parties can now dine at your facility and not leave you any money at all for service. Your support staff still gets a tip-out regardless if you made a tip on the table. You often times lose out on money due to customers not tipping, even with great service and compliments. Increase the tipped employee hourly wage to something more viable than $2.13 to compensate for this or dissolve the rule altogether.
