Amend or ratify the 14th Constitutional Amendment to protect American citizens and our great nation.

Created by A.O. on July 26, 2012

I am proposing to ratify the "citizenship clause" of the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution. I would propose that we change it so that a baby only becomes a US citizen if at least one of his parents can prove their citizenship, whether they're birth citizens or naturalized. I believe the amendment was needed and worked when it was written in 1868 but that is no longer true.

There are organizations based in the US that teach people how to "work the system" (and make a profit doing it) to come here with the sole intention of having a "US" baby (search term birth tourism). It puts undue hardship on the economy and country in a multitude of ways and it underminds naturalized citizens who followed the law and worked hard to become citizens of our great nation.
