Amend the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program to include our fallen heroes.

Created by R.T. on December 24, 2012

Amend the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program to include our fallen heroes. When a teacher, firefighter, law enforcement officer or soldier dies or is disabled in the line of duty we need to honor this sacrifice by respectively absolving this individual, the individual’s family, beneficiaries, and co-signers of any and all student loan debt acquired by this individual.

Currently co-signers (mainly parents) have to repay the loans for students who die or become disabled -- conditions that would cancel a federal loan.

All private student loan lenders entitled to bankruptcy protection under “The Bankruptcy Reform Act of 2005” would be required to participate.
