Two major dairy groups, The International Dairy Foods Association and the National Milk Producers Federation, are attempting to gain permission from the FDA to add aspartame to milk without being required to label it.
I propose that the current labeling regulations be amended so that any time a chemical such as aspartame is added to a product, it is labeled as such. I propose that these products should not be called "milk" but "dairy product".
American consumers have a right to know what has been added to the products we buy. I want to know if a substance linked to Type 2 diabetes has been added to the milk I give my toddler.
