After the tragic events that unfolded in Connecticut today, it's time we review the second amendment. Laws cannot, nor should they withstand the winds of time. It was a great idea when our founding fathers wrote it, but they do not live in today's times and if they did they would not like what they see. It's time we look at the Constitution and consider changes for the betterment of our society. It's time that we take action.
It is with my best intentions that we amend our second amendment so that anyone who wishes to purchase a weapon must pass a psychiatric exam to determine whether they should be allowed to carry the firearm or not. Myself being a brother of a child old enough to attend Elementary School is terrified of the possibilities of what can happen nowadays.
