Amend Selective Service laws to require all female US citizens ages 18 – 25 to register for Selective Service.

Created by E.C. on January 24, 2013

Historically, women in the US have not been required to register for Selective Service. The rationale was that because women were banned from front line combat positions, they were not required to register for Selective Service. With the Department of Defense’s recent decision to allow female service members to serve in front line combat units, this rationale no longer applies. Therefore, Selective Service laws need to be amended to require all female US citizens ages 18 – 25 to register for Selective Service.
