To amend title 18 § 921(a)(17)(B)(i) by striking the words "steel" and "iron" from the definition.

Created by D.M. on May 12, 2013

This petition attempts to remove the legislation on steel and iron cored pistol projectiles. The banning of such items was based on fear and rhetoric. Such ammunition is produced as a matter of economy and not to facilitate armor piercing capability. This has blocked import of many foreign produced munitions leading to higher ammo costs for the United States firearms sportsman. While it may have higher penetration than lead core ammunition, there is no record of its being specifically chosen to kill an officer of the law. By removing inane laws such as this the judicial system may focus on prosecuting for actual firearms related crimes.
