Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 presently protects classes including "...race, color, religion, or national origin," from discrimination or segregation in places of public accommodation.
Recent events have demonstrated that additional classes presently do not enjoy similar full protection of law. Moreover, some States and/or localities have introduced bills that seek to shield from prosecution discriminatory business practices under the guise of "Religious Freedom."
We the People ask that the language of Title II be amended to protect additional classes, including but not limited to gender, gender identity and sexual orientation.
We ask the Administration and Congress to advocate and cleanly enact the establishment of these additional protected classes with all due expediency.
