Amend Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act: Include prohibit employment discrimination based on length of unemployment

Created by D.G. on November 04, 2011

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex and national origin.

Currently, employers may deny job seekers employment based on the length of their unemployment. We believe that creates a downward spiral as the passage of time only increases the job seeker's employment ineligibility.

We are asking that Title VII be amended to prohibit employment discrimination based on the length of the applicants' unemployment. For these purposes, unemployment is defined as the lack of quantifiable employment which can be traced through tax records.
