All votes should have an equal value. With the current electoral college this is not the case. If all votes had the same value then whichever candidates received the most votes would be declared the winner. If a candidate has less total votes, but wins, the only conclusion can be that the average value of that candidate's individual votes carried more value. This is against the spirit of the constitution which was meant to give an equal voice to all citizens of the United States of America. If elections were decided on the popular vote then all votes would be considered equal.
