Amend Article II of the U.S. Constitution to require a yea or nay vote on all judicial nominees within 180 days. Consent of the Senate will be deemed automatically given to any judicial nominee unless a vote is held within 180 days and the result of the vote is no.
An independent judiciary is vital to our democracy and the legitimacy of the Supreme Court is severely damaged when one political party obstructs the functioning of an independent branch of government. The American people will lose faith that the judiciary can be trusted to act in a non-partisan manner if a nomination is "held" 180 days or more so another nomination can be made by a new President who was not in office when the vacancy occurred. Senators: Vote yes or vote no but do your job and VOTE.
