As of today, international students may create and own businesses in the US, and may even manage and operate the business, so long as they are not in the US when working. When in the US, the student may found and own shares in a newly founded company, but may NOT do work, rendering the new company nonoperational. We must change rules to allow foreign nationals to create new companies and work at them while physically in the US. A common argument stated by the government is that work that can be performed by an American should be given to an American. In this instance, by allowing a foreign national to work, we may create more jobs FOR Americans. The foreign national is not taking away a job, they are creating an entirely new one for themselves which will in turn lead to new jobs in the US.
