Amendment to Article XXVII of the Constitution

Created by S.S. on December 07, 2011

Article XXVII states: No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives shall take effect, until an election of Representatives shall have intervened. (Ratified May, 1992)

Congress currently has jusidiction what you and I get paid in social security, Medicare, military pay, military retirement, veterans benefits and federal service pay. Why ar they also responsible for their own pay and the Presidents? The Congress and the President work for the people and their pay should be determined by the people. I am recommending a constitutional amendment that would require any congressional or executive pay raise be presented to the people for a vote, approve or disapprove.
