Because our elected representatives spend an unacceptable portion of their time and efforts while in public office seeking to remain in office; that fundraising and money have become too much of a negative influence over our representatives; and these, among other factors, have created a polarized and entrenched ruling political class too concerned with politics and themselves to properly represent the People;
a change is needed to reestablish elected representative office as a noble short-term period of public service:
1. The President, Senate and House are elected to a single 6 year term, one third every two years (and are barred from lobbying for a period thereafter);
2. Contributions are limited to U.S. citizens and in amount; and
3. Politically motivated redistricting is prohibited.
