The Bald Eagle was selected as the central image of the Great Seal of the United States by our nation's Founding Fathers on June 20, 1782. For over 230 years, this precious national treasure has served as the pride of America's skies and the living symbol of all that America stands for: Freedom, Courage, Strength, Spirit, Independence, and Excellence.
American Eagle Day has been proclaimed by Governors from 47 states since 1995 and has been recognized by Congress several times since 2008.
We almost lost this precious species due to our own mistakes.
It's time to make American Eagle Day a permanent national commemorative day in the United States.
Sign this petition to convince U.S. Congress and the President to add it to 36 U.S. Code Chapter 1 - PATRIOTIC AND NATIONAL OBSERVANCES.
