The undersigned petitioners ask the President to invite all 200 of the 2016 American Legion Boys and Girls Nation Senators (in small groups perhaps) to the White House before leaving office in January, 2017. For only the second time in 70 years the outstanding young men and women who participated in the American Legion's Girls and Boys Nation program this summer in Washington, DC were not received at the White House by the President. The opportunity to speak personally and be photographed with the President of the United States has long been a singular joy of Girls and Boys Nation participants. These future leaders all deserves the opportunity to use the same iconic photograph used by Bill Clinton in a presidential campaign decades from now.
