In the interest of upholding our Government’s most vital attribute, that of checks and balances, we demand that immediate action be made to increase the size and level of funding for the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board. As of today, the board has only been allowed one full time chairman and 4 part time members. The level of funding and resources that this Board receives are dwarfed not only by those available to the agencies that it is charged with overseeing, but also and most importantly, by the invaluable rights that it is charged with protecting. Please understand the crucial importance of establishing legitimate ways within our government to protect our rights. Immediate action is needed to prevent further abuses and unchecked actions by executive agencies like the NSA.
