The American tax payer should not pay for rebuilding efforts following Super Storm Sandy. The federal government should pay for basic survival needs. They should pay for food, housing, and medicine for the victims. They however should not pay for rebuilding these states and cities. That should be covered by state revenue. There are plenty of people in these areas and they pay state taxes. They chose to live near the ocean. When you do that, you run the risk of having property destroyed by storms. Americans who pay taxes that do not live near the ocean should not be paying for someone to live near the ocean. They should take personal responsibility for living near the ocean.
