American Workers First should be the focus of immigration reform.

Created by K.H. on February 05, 2013

U.S. workers must be the first priority of the President, Congress, and employers. Many Americans gladly do service-industry jobs, referred to as unskilled, and make a living. Many Americans held trades, like masonry, roofing, and cooking, yet are now unable to find work, due to illegal labor. Claiming that only immigrants, legal or not, work "unskilled", or trade jobs is unrealistic. Only 22% of Americans earn a Bachelor's degree, so where does that leave the other 78% who need jobs. I cooked while earning a degree, a disappearing option. All Americans, regardless of education, have the right to earn, support and advance their family. Congress should first enact immigration enforcement legislation to end the hiring of undocumented workers so that all Americans can earn a living wage.
